Visionary thinker. Driven to innovate. Christian Weedbrook thinks differently to create possibility.
Christian founded Xanadu Quantum Technologies to build quantum computers that are useful and available to people everywhere.
With a PhD in physics, Christian was completing post-doctoral research at MIT and the University of Toronto when he realized: people didn’t recognize quantum computing’s full potential. But he could see it clearly.
By using light (photons) instead of traditional electronic circuits, Christian enables quantum coherence for longer periods of time. His approach makes it possible for quantum computers to operate at room temperature and work compatibly with existing fibre-optic infrastructure.
Christian established Xanadu with little precedent and a clear mission: help industries tap into quantum’s possibility. What began as an ambitious vision to make quantum computing practical and accessible has evolved into a company of more than 250 people, driving advancements through innovations such as its Aurora quantum computer and widely adopted PennyLane software platform.
With the support of leading investors and strategic partnerships, Xanadu is positioned to capture endless opportunity.
