Over 100 regional finalists up for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2023 award

EY Canada is honoured to announce the regional finalists in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2023 program today. Selected by an independent panel of judges, businesses from each Canadian region have been recognized for transforming our world through unbounded innovation, growth and prosperity.

“This year’s finalists are creating innovative business models to withstand tough market pressures amid a challenging economic and geopolitical landscape,” says Rachel Rodrigues, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Canada Program Director. “From financial services and biotechnology to fashion and homewares, the diversity in both the industries and the entrepreneurs is a true testament to the inclusivity and excellence of Canada’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

Now in its 29th year in Canada, the Entrepreneur Of The Year program fosters, links and empowers Canadian entrepreneurs as they transform innovative concepts into influential businesses that make a significant impact both nationally and globally. The program works in tandem with EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ and Entrepreneurs Access Network to help businesses grow, scale and overcome ever-evolving challenges, while building an equitable and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem for all. Our entrepreneurial ecosystem brings together winning participants with innovative business leaders, facilitating connections and ideation across all industries and sectors.

“Whether they’re shaking up established industries or launching fresh ventures, these entrepreneurs are actively adapting to evolving market dynamics and customer expectations to propel sustainable growth,” says Rodrigues. “We’re excited to celebrate all of their achievements as they rise to the challenge of addressing our most pressing issues by delivering new solutions to market — all the while creating jobs and fuelling economic prosperity.”

What’s next?

The independent panel of judges will select regional winners and one overall regional winner from each Canadian region will then be announced in October. Regional winners will then compete at the national awards celebration in November for the title of Canada’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023. The overall Canadian winner will go on to compete with national winners from across the globe in Monaco for the title of EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2024. Last year’s winner, Joanna Griffiths of Knix — a Toronto-based intimate apparel company best known for their human-centric design and cutting-edge technology — travelled to Monaco last week to represent Canada on the world stage for EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023.
