Entrepreneurs from emerging businesses to established international groups, from all sectors of the economy across Cyprus, are invited to submit their nominations between now and 31st October 2021.
EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ is a unique global program that recognizes entrepreneurial achievement among individuals and companies that demonstrate vision, leadership and success, and work to improve the quality of life in their communities, countries and around the world. Now more than ever, entrepreneurs are rising up to build a better world. In the face of adversity, these entrepreneurs are unstoppable – reinventing our future and solving the world’s biggest challenges. Through the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program, we celebrate the unstoppable entrepreneurs whose unbounded ambitions deliver innovation, growth and prosperity that transform our world.
By participating in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program, entrepreneurs can connect with their peers, access relevant insights to help navigate their growth journey, and raise the profile of their companies and teams. Each national program culminates in the announcement of an overall winner who then competes for the prestigious EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Award. The global event takes place every year in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and highlights how the world’s most dynamic entrepreneurs – renowned for their ability to find new opportunities, even in times of unprecedented change – continue to grow and thrive.
In Cyprus, the program comes to bring in the forefront the importance of entrepreneurship for our country in its effort to rebound from the crisis and build a rejuvenated, sustainable economy. Over the years, EY has been committed to supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cyprus, coinciding with the government's focus on fostering entrepreneurship and grooming local entrepreneurs to take on the world market. The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Cyprus program is being launched to honor the country’s top entrepreneurs for their contributions to the economy and society, promoting entrepreneurship across the island and empowering entrepreneurs to grow their businesses in Cyprus and around the world.
We are honored that the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy has decided to support our program, as it aligns with their vision of a culture of innovation in our society and implementing actions with high impact and value for government, business and citizens. According to the Deputy Minister, Kyriacos Kokkinos, “It is a great pleasure to be part of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year project, which celebrates and encourages innovative entrepreneurship, a key lever towards recovery, resilience and sustainability. I would like to congratulate EY for this initiative, instrumental to the growth and extroversion of our local ecosystem, as well as for their long-lasting contribution to the business and socio-economic developments of our country. I would like to wish every success to all participants, and ensure you that the Government will be by your side to support and guide you all the way.”
We are also proud to welcome as a supporter, Cyprus Seeds, a non-profit organization with the mission to help commercialize innovative academic research in Cypriot universities and research institutions, aiming at strengthening entrepreneurship and building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cyprus. Equally important is the support of Digital Tree, a truly innovative digital powerhouse, as the communication sponsor of our program.
Our national winner is expected to head to Monaco in June 2022 to represent Cyprus at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award™ in Monte Carlo. The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program not only ensures national and international recognition for successful finalists and winners but also provides an invaluable network and business opportunity within a growing EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Alumni community.
Stelios Demetriou, Lead Partner for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Cyprus and Head of Strategy and Transactions at EY Cyprus, said: “We are excited to launch the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ competition for the first time in Cyprus. We want to elevate entrepreneurship in Cyprus and encourage our island’s entrepreneurs who have demonstrated resilience in these challenging times. This is a great opportunity to showcase Cypriot entrepreneurship on a global scale and we are confident that our national winner will participate in the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award™ in Monaco next summer as a worthy representative of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cyprus”.
Ronald Attard, EY Cyprus Country Managing Partner, also commented: “Never before has it been more important to celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs. EY fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, and this is an opportunity to celebrate those outstanding entrepreneurs in Cyprus who have a positive impact on the economy and our community. Here’s to the entrepreneurs creating a better working world”.
