• Understanding business trends in different sectors
• Analysing key line items within the Income Statement, including Revenue, Cost drivers, Payroll, Other expenses
• The Cash Flow Statement: understanding its importance, how to derive it, and stress test it
• Identifying trends within comparative information
• Understanding the key line items within the Balance Sheet
• Understanding the components of working capital and its drivers
• Understanding Related Party Transactions, Balances and associated risks

Speakers

Mark Spiteri | Senior Manager | Strategy & Transactions | EY Malta

Mark Spiteri is a Senior Manager in EY’s Strategy & Transactions team where he joined in 2022 with over 13 years professional experience in the investment management, financial services and iGaming industries. After a spell of 8 years in hedge funds with focus on commodities, securitization and private equity, Mark joined the corporate finance team of a listed iGaming company to later manage the strategy function responsible for M&A. He holds an BSc (Hons) in Banking & Finance and is a CFA Charterholder since 2014.

Bernard Caruana | Senior | Strategy & Transactions | EY Malta

Bernard Caruana is a Senior within EY's Strategy & Transactions team where he joined in 2023 After having spent 2 years working within the corporate finance team of a listed technology company. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Banking and Finance.
