Future Realised

Two global keynotes to headline EY’s Future Realised 2025

On 22 October, Malta’s premier economic forum returns to the Mediterranean Conference Centre. EY-Parthenon’s Future Realised 2025 comes at a time when trade fractures, Europe resets its industrial agenda, and artificial intelligence begins to rewrite the rules of business. The event is a sell-out each year, drawing over 1,000 attendees — including top executives, policymakers, investors, and representatives from international organisations — to ask, and answer: What comes next?

Two global voices will headline the day. Maurice Conti, the futurist behind one of the world’s most-watched TED Talks, will reveal where AI is heading and how business leaders should think today to gain competitive advantage over the next 3–5 years. Dr Bruno Maçães, former Portuguese Secretary of State for European Affairs, geopolitical strategist, and best-selling author, will dissect the power shifts reshaping trade, investment, security, and the strategic choices facing Europe and Malta.

Three panels featuring local and international business leaders, ministers, and shadow cabinet members will address the issues that matter most to business:

  • How attractive is Malta today, as tax, talent, and growth trade-offs surface?
  • What will drive competitiveness in 2050 — from AI to infrastructure and industrial policy?
  • Where should Malta position itself in a world of geopolitical and trade realignment?

The programme opens with the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce. It includes the launch of EY’s 2025 European and Malta Attractiveness Survey, which examines investor sentiment on FDI attractiveness, investment drivers, and growth pathways.

This year’s event introduces four thematic breakout zones designed for practical insight and direct engagement:

  • ENGAGE will feature an interactive EY’s AI Four Futures workshop, exploring how artificial intelligence could reshape the business landscape by 2030.
  • BUILD focuses on infrastructure and investment priorities critical for long-term competitiveness.
  • CHANGE examines climate adaptation and the transition to low-carbon growth.
  • GENERATE explores the skills strategies needed to take Malta forward.
