Jon Atkey-Smith is an Partner and the Talent Leader for EY in Jersey, Channel Islands. Jon has over 15 years’ experience in delivering assurance services for a wide range of financial services clients with a specific focus on auditing alternative investment structures throughout their life cycle, including property and private equity funds.

Jon is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder (CFA) and a Fellow of the Chartered and Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Jon joined EY as an Assistant Manager in 2010 after qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2007 at another ‘Big 4’ organization.

Jon holds a degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and a degree in Education from the University of Winchester.

How Jon is building a better working world

Jon started his career more than 20 years ago as a qualified teacher and has come full circle. He is passionate about developing his team around him and as Jersey’s Talent Leader he has full visibility over the strengths and motivations of EY people. Building high performing diverse teams is key to our growth ambitions and he continues to have a direct impact on widening EY diversity and developing EY talent. Jon has supported the Jersey Employment Trust, a local charity who offer vocational training to vulnerable people in the community with disabilities and long-term health problems.

He is passionate about supporting young people in their journey, particularly in preparing for the world of work by providing them with interview skills training and careers guidance.
