Sandamini Perera

EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Asia-Pacific Class of 2024
Co-founder and Co-Chair, Prime Group and Executive Chairperson, Prime Lands Residencies PLC, Sri Lanka

Sandamini Perera is the co-founder and Executive Chairperson of the Sri Lankan real estate enterprise, Prime Group. The first company in the group, Prime Lands, was established in 1996. Prime Group has now forged a huge presence across the country with a dedicated team of over 600 employees.

The major breakthrough for the group came in 2000, when they signed an agreement to develop lands in Wattala. In 2011, the group acquired Celinco Grameen Micro Credit Ltd. and rebranded it as Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd.

With 25 years of experience in the real estate sector, Sandamini was appointed to the group's board of directors in February 2017. Acquiring of Summit Finance and rebranding it as HNB Finance, listing of Prime Lands Residencies PLC at CSE in 2021, and acquiring of Regent Caters and Regent Country Club Pvt Ltd in 2022 were some of the key milestones under her leadership.

Sandamini was recognized as the third most powerful woman in Sri Lanka in 2013 by Echelon, a leading business magazine in Sri Lanka. She was also awarded the “Honored Leaders Excellence Award” for excellence in women’s empowerment from World Consulting and Research Corporation in New Delhi. Furthermore, Sandamini was a recipient of “Best Women Entrepreneur” (Large Category 2014-15) award from Women in Management Sri Lanka.

She envisions a future where Prime Group will foray into second home concept, retirement housing projects, commercial real estate and building a footprint outside Sri Lanka.

Driven by the vision of ‘creating a better place on earth,’ our objective is more than simply providing a piece of land or a house — it embodies the dreams of every citizen. It has broader implications that extend beyond real estate, influencing our employees, stakeholders, neighborhoods and the nation as a whole.
