The launch of the EU's Entry and Exit System (EES) has been postponed until further notice. The EES was initially set to be introduced in October 2022, but its launch was delayed due to IT issues and concerns about border controls. The EES was then expected to go live on 10 November 2024. On 10 October 2024, EU Commissioner Ylva Johansson announced the decision to postpone the launch of the EES until further notice, with the potential for a phased roll-out. Employers may continue to monitor developments related to the EES and ETIAS and adopt internal policies as required to ensure compliance.
