The Turkish authorities recently began accepting applications under a new Tech Visa program for qualifying foreign nationals (including both employees and entrepreneurs) with expertise in the field of technology. Effective 16 September 2024, the Tech Visa program is open to eligible foreign nationals with expertise in technology who seek to undertake work (i.e., employees) or establish a startup (i.e., entrepreneurs) in Turkiye. To apply for the program, individuals must first apply for a work visa with a Turkish embassy or consulate and then for a work permit with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Turkiye. If eligible, the Ministry will issue a work permit under the Tech Visa program, which will be valid for up to three years.
