- The EY Global Vice Chair - Sustainability focuses on helping EY clients achieve sustainability goals and contributes to the EY Global Environment Strategy
- Devine brings more than 30 years of international experience advising companies in energy, government and financial services.
The EY organization announces the appointment of Colm Devine as EY Global Vice Chair – Sustainability, reporting to Raj Sharma, EY Global Managing Partner – Growth & Innovation.
Devine will play an important role in coordinating the overall EY sustainability and climate change strategy. He will work across all of EY to support the design and delivery of services to help EY clients achieve their sustainability goals, provide EY professionals with opportunities to upskill and engage on sustainability, and contribute to the organization’s environment strategy, targeting by 2030 a 50% reduction in emissions and the development and integration of nature metrics and action for water, waste and pollution.
Devine takes the role with a 30-year international track record across the energy, financial services, and government sectors with a particular focus in power and utilities. For more than a decade, as a member of EY Global and EY EMEIA Power and Utilities leadership groups, he has focused on the energy transition, bringing insight to the role of decarbonisation planning, risk, finance, technology led transformation, policy and infrastructure.
Janet Truncale, EY Global Chairman and CEO, says:
“I’m thrilled that Colm will play an important role in coordinating our sustainability efforts for our people, clients and stakeholders, a key priority underpinning our global All in strategy. Colm’s deep experience advising government and private sector clients on risk, investment and strategy, distinctively positions him to help EY and its clients navigate complexity, stay competitive, and achieve their sustainability ambitions.”
For more than 20 years, EY teams have supported clients in tackling emerging and evolving issues linked to climate change and nature. EY professionals provide a broad spectrum of sustainability services and technology solutions to help clients manage risk, reduce cost, spur innovation, build trust and achieve measurable results.
Across the EY organization, over 4,000 professionals work in dedicated sustainability and climate change services, with 30,000 employees engaged through wider integration of sustainability within industry teams. Technology enabled climate and nature services include scenario planning tools, decarbonization planning, AI integration, cloud computing, industrial Internet of Things, quantum and SpaceTech.
Devine says:
“Despite geopolitical headlines and economic headwinds, pressure remains for companies to plan and progress their net zero targets, adopt new approaches to protect and restore biodiversity and achieve nature positive practices. In this role, I will have a distinctive view across EY teams’ capacity to help shift the sustainability dial with clients, from compliance to transformation, and help drive innovation that embeds sustainability linked decision making and data as a core capability for long-term resilience and competitive edge.”
Devine succeeds Amy Brachio in the role, who retired in September 2025 after nearly 30 years with EY.
