On 25 June 2024, China Mainland announced that Australian nationals are now able to obtain Chinese visas that are valid for up to five years for business, tourist or family visit purposes. In addition, effective 1 July 2024, nationals of Australia, New Zealand and Poland will be able to enter China Mainland without a visa and remain for up to 15 days per entry. Qualifying holders of ordinary Australian passports can now apply for multiple-entry visas that are valid for five years for business, tourism or family visits. Additionally, from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2025, nationals of Australia, New Zealand and Poland who hold ordinary passports and seek to enter the Chinese Mainland for business, tourism or family visits for up to 15 days may do so without obtaining a visa.
