Denmark announces new mobility and migration agreement with India

On 22 February 2024, the Danish Ministry for Immigration and Integration announced that Denmark has entered into a new mobility and migration agreement with India, which aims to attract Indian workers and support the two nations' Green Strategic Partnership. The new agreement will enable younger Indian nationals to undertake short-term employment in Denmark and return to India with strengthened skills. It includes a commitment to explore greater employment opportunities for Indian professionals in the Danish healthcare sector. It also aims to reinforce bilateral cooperation in mitigating irregular migration and repatriation of individuals who are unlawfully residing in the other country.
