Effective 1 October 2025, all foreign nationals entering India are required to apply for an e-Arrival Card within 72 hours prior to arrival, with limited exceptions. The new requirement applies to all foreign nationals, including those holding regular visas and e-visas. Indian passport holders and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders are exempt from this requirement. Eligible individuals may apply for the e-Arrival Card through the Indian Visa Online website, the Bureau of Immigration website or the "Su-Swagatam" mobile app by submitting their contact details, passport information, purpose of visit and accommodation details.
