Pakistan implements new visa policies for business visitors from several countries

The visa policy changes announced by the Pakistan Prime Minister in late July 2024 went into effect on 23 August 2024. Effective 23 August 2024: (i) nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States (i.e., Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE) who seek to visit Pakistan for business or tourism purposes can enter Pakistan without a visa for up to 90 days and exit and re-enter the country multiple times during their authorized stay period; and (ii) business visitors from 126 countries that Pakistan designates as “business friendly” are now eligible to apply for visas on arrival in Pakistan without paying any fee.
