Eric Berkhof still remembers going to car markets with his father, Drik Berkhof, a car dealer with a special connection to the Autobedrijf Van Mossel dealership. Later, it was Eric’s internship at Van Mossel that sparked his passion for the automotive industry, and in 1988, he took over the business, a Volkswagen dealership. With life lessons from founder Wim van Mossel and his father, Drik, in mind, Eric reinforced the foundation of the company and expanded the unique full-service concept. Now called Van Mossel Automotive Group, the company is an official dealer of Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and more than 40 other car brands, with 538 branches across seven countries.

With a strong commitment to the business, Eric fought through difficult years with hard work, a focus on customer service, and building relationships. These relationships with various car manufacturers have enabled Van Mossel to offer a comprehensive portfolio to its customers. Under Eric’s leadership, Van Mossel provides a one-stop-shop mobility solution that focuses on fully meeting customer needs. The company’s integrated business model includes dealerships, body repair services and leasing companies. This “A-to-Z” customer care approach drives customer satisfaction and solid business growth. The strategy is based on a strong local presence that provides a wide range of services in every region.

Customer satisfaction is Eric's top priority, as evidenced by the fact that his personal mobile number is listed on the company’s websites. With the experience gained and the success achieved in the Benelux — Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg — the company’s ambitions now extend beyond this region to Germany, Denmark and the UK. With a focus on international expansion, Van Mossel continues to acquire dealerships, implementing Eric’s long-term vision for successful entrepreneurship across Europe.
