Driven by a passion for innovation, Zvonimir Viduka founded ALTPRO in 1994 to address the growing need for advanced signaling and safety systems in rail transport. Drawing on his experience in industrial electronics, he transformed technical expertise into entrepreneurial vision during a time of economic uncertainty and rapid change in Croatia.

His mission was clear: to create reliable, configurable solutions that enhance rail safety globally. Starting from a modest technological park, Zvonimir built ALTPRO’s first product himself. Today, the company operates in cutting-edge development centers and production facilities, including a new high-tech plant in Velika Gorica near Zagreb, positioning ALTPRO among Europe’s leaders in railway safety technology and innovation.

ALTPRO’s portfolio spans over 1,500 certified devices and systems, from innovative axle counters to advanced train detection and automatic braking solutions. These products are used in more than 55 countries across six continents, helping ensure interoperability and compliance with the highest safety standards worldwide.
