René Beltjens’ entrepreneurial journey began with a passion for bridging law and finance. After earning a law degree in Belgium and completing an MBA, he discovered his calling in taxation – a field that combined both disciplines. His early work in Big Four tax services established him as a builder of Luxembourg’s tax capabilities in an increasingly complex investment landscape.
This pioneering spirit later led him to join Alter Domus in 2008 as its third co-founder, driving global expansion and strategic growth. Alter Domus is now a leading provider of tech-enabled funds and corporate services for alternative investments, supporting private equity, real estate and private debt managers worldwide. Under René’s leadership, Alter Domus has become known for its operational excellence, innovation and sustainability. Its environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework, proprietary digital platforms and commitment to stakeholder value reflect its purpose: enabling client growth through expertise and technology.
René’s impact extends beyond the business. He actively supports cancer research and long COVID therapy, invests in family-owned companies, and champions education and diversity through global programs. Today, as a board member and strategic advisor, he continues to help steer Alter Domus toward resilience and sustainable impact.
