Kayla Van Niekerk has been promoted to Assurance Senior Manager in Jersey, while Kanchan Khantwal has been promoted to Assurance Manager in the Guernsey office.
Kayla has extensive experience within the wealth and asset management industry. She has managed and completed numerous financial audits for a range of real estate and private equity clients, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulatory law requirements, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Kayla also supports with the facilitation of internal technical training, and is actively involved with EY’s business development activities, both of which she will continue to focus on in her new senior management role.
Kanchan has a wealth of experience in the wealth & asset management, private equity and real estate industries. She has detailed knowledge of accounting standards, local regulatory and statutory law requirements. Alongside her technical skills, Kanchan is a keen advocate for creating a truly diverse and inclusive workplace, and is a member of EY’s Channel Islands Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) committee. She was instrumental in bringing colleagues together to celebrate Diwali in November, giving everyone the opportunity to share cultural traditions while strengthening connections across teams. This event also raised funds for Safer, a Guernsey-based charity supporting those affected by domestic abuse.
