Experienced UK financial services leader joins EY’s Channel Islands partnership as the firm continues to invest in its long term growth strategy. EY has announced the appointment of Nick Dawes as Partner in its Channel Islands business, effective 1 October 2026.

The appointment reflects EY's continued investment in the Channel Islands and follows a period of sustained growth across the firm's Assurance, Tax and Strategy and Transactions service lines. Nick Dawes joins the Channel Islands partnership with 30 years of experience advising and auditing banking and capital markets clients in the UK and internationally.

Based in the Channel Islands, Nick will support the continued expansion of EY's Channel Islands offices, strengthen links with the wider UK and global EY network, and help drive new opportunities for clients and people across the business.

Bringing global banking expertise to the Channel Islands

Throughout his 30 year career with EY, Nick has built extensive experience advising and auditing many of the world's leading banking and capital markets organisations. Beginning his career in London, he worked across a number of major banking audit engagements before broadening his experience through international assignments and advisory projects.

In 2009, Nick relocated to Tokyo, where he spent four years supporting Japanese financial institutions and the Japanese operations of global financial services organisations. During his time in Japan, he became a Partner and developed significant experience working across international financial markets, regulatory environments and complex cross-border banking organisations.

Following his return to the UK, Nick went on to lead audit relationships for several major global banking institutions and held leadership roles within EY’s UK Financial Services Assurance practice. Most recently, he has been responsible for leading teams supporting some of the industry's most significant banking and capital markets clients, while also playing a key role in developing talent and driving the continued growth of EY's banking practice.

A compelling growth story

Commenting on his appointment, Nick Dawes said: "I am delighted to be joining EY Channel Islands at such an exciting point in its development. Having spent my career working with financial services organisations across the UK and internationally, I have been incredibly impressed by the ambition, momentum and quality of the Channel Islands business.

The growth achieved in recent years is a reflection of the outstanding people and strong client relationships that have been built locally. I am looking forward to working with colleagues across Jersey and Guernsey, strengthening connections with the wider EY network and helping to create new opportunities for our clients and our people.

The Channel Islands play an important role within the global financial services landscape and I am excited to be part of the next chapter of EY's growth in the region."

Investing in the future

Dan Saunders, Channel Islands Managing Partner at EY, said: "Nick's appointment represents another important milestone in our growth journey. He brings extensive financial services experience, deep technical expertise and a proven track record of building strong client relationships and developing high-performing teams.

As we continue to grow and broaden our offering across the Channel Islands, it is essential that we invest in leadership capable of supporting our long-term ambitions. Nick's experience across banking, capital markets and international financial services will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our people.

We are delighted to welcome him to the Channel Islands and look forward to the contribution he will make as we enter our next phase of growth."
