New Delhi: 18 July 2025: India’s education system stands at a crossroads, with over 250 million learners in need of personalized, inclusive, and future-ready learning experiences. A new report by EY India and ASSOCHAM titled, ‘AI as a Catalyst for Education Delivery’, outlines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be the game-changer in achieving this vision by 2047.

Focusing on both school and higher education, the EY – ASSOCHAM report highlights how AI is already enhancing foundational learning through adaptive technologies, enabling access to multilingual content, and improving institutional decision-making across admissions, performance tracking, and employability. It places particular emphasis on India’s Eastern and North-Eastern regions, spotlighting the potential of AI to support vernacular content delivery, teacher enablement, and low-bandwidth innovations that drive region-specific inclusion.

Sharing his perspective on the report, Vikas Aggarwal, Partner and Education Sector Leader – Government Public Sector, EY India, said, “AI can do for education what mobile phones did for communication in India—it can make access universal, personalized, and truly transformative. We’re already seeing AI shift education away from a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach to something far more adaptive and engaging for both students and teachers. As India moves toward building a future-ready education system, AI will be critical in making learning more inclusive, multilingual, and supportive of educators through smart tools and insights.”

The report calls for a cohesive, long-term approach to AI integration that goes beyond isolated pilots and embraces ethical, scalable implementation. Anchored in the National Education Policy, it urges policymakers, education leaders, and industry players to work collectively to create an ecosystem where AI enhances learning outcomes, strengthens institutional capacity, and supports inclusive national development.

Rather than viewing AI as just a technological upgrade, the EY – ASSOCHAM report positions it as a strategic enabler of systemic transformation—critical to building an education system that is equitable, future-proof, and aligned with India’s aspirations for Viksit Bharat@2047.
