Data protection representative
Artikel 27 van de Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG) van de EU vereist dat organisaties die niet gevestigd zijn in de Europese Unie (EU) een vertegenwoordiger in de EU aanwijzen als zij onderworpen zijn aan de AVG.
Bepaalde niet-EU EY Network-entiteiten kunnen verwerkingsactiviteiten ondernemen waarop de AVG van toepassing is. Om die reden hebben deze entiteiten een vertegenwoordiger in overeenstemming met de AVG aangesteld om namens hen te handelen als en wanneer zij gegevensverwerkingsactiviteiten ondernemen waarop artikel 3, lid 2, AVG van toepassing is. Een dergelijke benoeming is niet bedoeld als een erkenning dat de AVG van toepassing is op hun verwerkingsactiviteiten.
