As a Strategy and Transactions Partner with EY-Parthenon, Mats leads EY UK&I’s Macro and Geostrategy practice. He helps businesses navigate complex global challenges, turning macro trends into actionable strategies that protect and enhance value across capital allocation, transactions, supply chain and strategic risk.
Mats advises multinationals, with a particular focus on utilities, automotive and infrastructure. He has extensive experience in growth and supply chain strategy, scenario planning, energy transition, business economics and policy-led transformation.
He was previously Head of International Trade, Economics and Policy Unit and Brexit Lead at EY UK, Chief of Staff to the UK Chancellor (2019–2020) and Special Advisor to the UK Prime Minister (2015–2016). Prior to this, Mats was a Director at the think tank, Open Europe.

Mats holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BSc from Liberty University.
