Excelerate | Advanced Microsoft Excel Workshop

This advanced workshop will continue building on the intermediate workshop and is designed for those who want to take their Excel knowledge to the next level. A solid knowledge in basic Excel functions will act as a strong foundation, as you will expand your knowledge with the use and application of Data Validation, Pivot Tables, Table and Lookup functions. Beyond the application of these functions, this training will also include basic theoretical perspectives on information management, enabling you to manage large datasets and to harness the power of Excel functionality.

Learning objectives

The overall learning objectives for this workshop will include:

  • Master the most common Excel functions used in data analysis
  • Maintain and manage large sets of data in lists or tables
  • Build a solid understanding of advanced Excel basics and formula syntax
  • Use images, shapes, and charts to visualise data
  • Manage lists and tables efficiently
  • Create flags and switches to run sensitivities and scenario analyses
  • Develop dashboards to summarise and analyse results and metrics

Who Should Attend?

The workshop is available to anyone who already has a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and will cater for individuals who use Microsoft Excel on a regular basis. They are already aware of the functionality of the tool, but wish to learn more about certain advanced aspects, such as Slicers and dashboarding.

Emma is an Associate within the People Consultancy team at EY. In her role, she assists clients with various people-related issues to enhance their workforce strategy and ensure alignment with broader organisational goals. Additionally, she plays a key role in HR transformation projects, which involve implementing effective HR solutions, advancing digitalisation initiatives, and facilitating change management processes. Emma is also tasked with creating and analysing data-driven dashboards that deliver valuable insights to aid strategic decision-making and enhance organisational performance.
