Areas of focus

As a Partner in our Power & Utilities group, Omar leads the Digital Grid practice at Ernst & Young LLP, covering operational technology, smart grid/smart metering and energy markets.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the utilities industry, with deep skills in power systems operations, generation, transmission and distribution, asset management, deregulated energy markets, power trading and smart grid.

He has successfully delivered complex, large-scale system integration and business transformation programs for utilities and energy clients in North America, Europe and Asia. He has presented on smart grid and energy trading/markets to utilities clients globally.

Before joining EY, Omar was a Managing Director/Partner with another global consulting firm, leading the Grid Operations group within the Utilities practice. Omar also held several engineering roles with Canadian utilities and oil and gas companies before that.
