Areas of focus

As an economist with extensive media experience, Charles is EY Global Tax Knowledge Leader. He leads research into issues impacting clients, including the rise of automation, the gig economy and the economic outlook.

Prior to joining EY in 2015, Charles was a Director at a London-based economic consulting firm and an economic advisor to the City of London Corporation, ICAEW and a host of private sector clients. In this role, he presented to UK members of parliament and authored influential reports on major policy issues.

He holds a BSc in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of Warwick.
