EY Americas Chief Sustainability Officer; Americas Climate Change and Sustainability Services Leader

Globally recognized sustainability leader. Experienced in development of innovative sustainability services and methodologies. Led professional practices and teams in global consulting companies.

Veli has led close to 100 environmental, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability engagements assisting clients from the oil & gas, mining, chemicals, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and retail sectors.

Prior to joining EY, she was the Global Sustainability Practice Director for a leading global sustainability consulting firm. In a 2013 study of the US sustainability consulting market by Verdantix — an independent research firm focused on environment, health, safety and quality, operational risk — she was recognized for her leadership and strategic vision for the growth of this firm’s practice. Additionally, she was the Western Division Sustainability Practice Leader of a global consulting firm.

Veli has numerous publications and has presented to diverse audiences on EHS and sustainability topics. She earned an MS in Pollution and Environmental Control and a PhD in Environmental Biology, both from the University of Manchester.

How Velislava is building a better working world

I work with clients to help them address their natural resource constraints and impacts, engage their stakeholders in sustainability collaborations, enhance and measure their sustainability performance as well as leverage sustainability to innovate new products, services and business models. I lead a team responsible for developing EY EHS and sustainability policies, reporting and disclosures, working closely with the EY leadership team globally.”
