Trisha Huang

1st runner-up – EY Young Tax Professional of the Year 2023, GDS Global

Trisha, based in the Philippines, is the 1st runner-up, representing GDS professionals from Argentina, India and the Philippines. She is a final year double-degree student in Accountancy and Financial Economics at the De La Salle University, working on her accountancy thesis before graduating in September 2023. She was a Global Compliance and Reporting tax intern at SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. (EY member firm in the Philippines) and participated in the Nurturing Leaders Internship Program. Trisha enjoys learning, watching Korean and Chinese drama, playing video games, listening to pop music, and playing with her Shih Tzu dog. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Filipino. She travelled to Singapore in 2012 and won a silver medal at the International Mathematics Contest.

What I have loved about the YTPY competition is meeting brilliant tax professionals from all over the world. We may have different cultures and be in different time zones, but the enthusiasm for tax is clearly our common denominator.
