How ESG creates value throughout the private equity lifecycle

In this EY Europe West Private Equity (PE) webcast, we will focus on the value creation potential of ESG throughout the deal lifecycle and at the fund level.

PE firms putting ESG at the heart of their business strategy will be the game changers in the new sustainable economy. PE companies are in a unique position to leverage their proven skills in value creation to deliver ESG results, allowing them to meet the demands of their stakeholders today and ultimately result in incremental financial returns over the long term. Doing this successfully will require firms to make immediate investments in ESG initiatives, including upskilling their deal teams and operating partners and directly investing in ESG initiatives at portfolio companies. Our panel of speakers will contribute different perspectives on ESG value creation from the venture capital point of view, as well as the view of a fund of funds manager.

Topics we will focus on include:

  • How relevant is ESG for your overall fund and investment strategy?
  • Where in the PE and VC lifecycle does ESG play a significant role, now, and in the future?
  • What do we mean by ESG-based value creation potential?
  • Where typically are the cost-saving potentials?
  • Significance of ecological versus social aspects?
  • Is there a difference between PE and VC and PE and PE funds of funds?

Panelists:

  • Gabriela Baum, Partner, EY-Parthenon GmbH
  • Dr. Alex von Frankenberg, CEO, High Tech Founders Funds
  • Julien Zornig, Partner, Astorius Capital (Funds of Funds)
