Ben is a managing director with the Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice of the Financial Services Organization. He has significant experience as an insurance industry executive, previously serving as the chief actuary at a Canadian alternative asset manager. He has held chief actuary roles for subsidiaries of a large insurance company, including its Bermuda entities.
He has worked closely with the Bermuda Monetary Authority on operational aspects of running a Bermuda company, including implementing the scenario-based approach and providing feedback and guidance on regulatory changes.
Ben has also engaged with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, government and relevant service providers to establish a B(iii) reinsurer in that jurisdiction.
Ben has led multiple valuation teams across various accounting frameworks, including Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet and US GAAP, and has been responsible for completing the Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement and Qualifying for Success.
