The IEG connects people and processes in the finance and tax ecosystem, positioning these two business functions as active strategic participants in enterprise-wide digital transformation and integrating them to share both data and functionality. It leverages a common standardized data framework built on the client’s Microsoft Azure cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform, with additional functionality enabled by innovative technology such as application programming interface management (APIM) systems integration (SI), Machine Learning and Function apps. IEG’s technology layers – user experience, orchestration and data management – can create sustainable, long-term value. The modularity of IEG allows clients to plot their desired transformation journey – starting with any process across finance and tax – from financial reporting, statutory reporting, tax methodologies, tax accounting, compliance or audit management – and expanding the IEG overtime.

User experience

 

The user experience layer is a SharePoint-based collaboration and process management portal that provides access to enterprise systems integration, intelligent automation, data analytics and specific tax applications. It allows remote access and acts as a hub to connect people, processes and data across the finance and tax functions.

Orchestration

 

The orchestration layer is a unified and reusable communication layer that allows users across the enterprise to transfer, consume and share data, value-add analytics, visualizations and key insights. It connects products, business units and third-party partners. It’s built on Microsoft Azure cloud and is enabled by innovative technology like APIM, SI, Machine Learning and Function apps.

 

This layer deals with the most critical element – data, the lifeblood of finance and tax. Using a common information model (CIM) that ingests and maps data from various systems, this layer is designed to be a single source of reusable tax and finance data.
