On 28 November 2024, Slovakia approved several amendments to its regulations governing residence authorization processes and Schengen Visa requirements, among others. The following changes will be introduced via amendments to Act No. 404/2011 Coll. on the Residence of Foreigners and Act No. 480/2002 Coll. on Asylum. Most of these changes will go into effect on 15 December 2024, while those impacting Ukrainian nationals' accommodation policies will be implemented on 1 March 2025: (i) Electronic application submission; (ii) Simplified Schengen Visa requirement; and (iii) Temporary protection.
