Maha Al Jishi

2nd runner-up – EY Young Tax Professional of the Year 2023, Bahrain

Maha, based in Bahrain is the 2nd runner-up representing professionals from Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, the Palestinian Authority, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates. She received a Law LLB from the University of Manchester and is a senior tax associate with the International Tax and Transaction Services team at Ernst & Young - Middle East. She works with a large oil and gas company on tax advisory matters ranging from transaction structuring issues to complex large-value multi-jurisdictional cases. She would like to develop a technically sound background in tax, then gain as much international experience as possible. Maha’s hobbies include exercising, watching movies, playing video games, traveling and baking. While in college, she traveled to Iceland where she saw the Northern Lights, hiked on a glacier, explored a lava cave and had the best chocolate cake in her life.
