Colombia - EY Young Tax Professional of the Year 2023 finalist
Maria is the finalist representing Colombia. She received a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and received a diploma in International Tax Law by the Colombian Institute of Tax Law in 2021. Since joining the International Tax and Transactions team at Ernst & Young S.A.S. in Bogotá, some of her responsibilities have included the development of proposals, reviewing company sales transactions, due diligence assignments and consulting on direct and indirect tax matters. Before finding her passion in taxation, she worked as a researcher. Maria aspires to become an international tax partner of an EY member firm, publishing articles related to international tax and teaching at different Colombian universities. In her free time, Maria likes training at the gym and cooking.
