Effective 8 April 2024, Irish residence permit holders based in the counties of Meath, Kildare and Wicklow will be able to complete their first-time registration at the Immigration Service Delivery’s (ISD) Burgh Quay Registration Office (ISD Dublin) and file renewal applications online. They will have to be in Ireland and have a valid passport and email ID to book the appointment. Upon booking an appointment, individuals will receive an email with relevant details (e.g., date, time and location; appointment confirmation number; document requirements). For successful applicants, a new Irish Residence Permit (IRP card) will be sent to their residence within 15 days. In addition, effective 8 April 2024, residence permit holders based in Kildare, Meath or Wicklow who seek to renew their registration will no longer need to visit their local Garda Station in person and will be able to file their renewal application through the ISD’s online portal.
