Italy announces new COVID-19 restrictions for travelers arriving from China Mainland

The Italian Government recently announced that most travelers arriving from China Mainland, including those transiting through Italy, must get tested for COVID-19 prior to departure and after arrival, irrespective of their nationality or COVID-19 vaccination status. Those who test positive for COVID-19 in Italy will be required to undergo self-isolation. These measures will stay in place until 31 January 2023 and may be extended at the authorities’ discretion.
