Jeremy Simons, based in Cleveland, OH, is a partner in EY’s National Professional Practice Group, where he focuses on disaggregation of income statement expenses (DISE) matters, various financial statement presentation matters, and lease accounting. He provides technical accounting assistance to audit teams and clients, prepares and maintains EY thought leadership, and monitors accounting standard-setting activity. His responsibilities include engagement with the FASB and SEC.
Previously, Jeremy was a partner in EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice where he led the lease accounting team in the Technical Accounting Advisory Group. Before that, he was a partner in EY’s National Professional Practice Group. Jeremy also spent two years as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the SEC's Office of the Chief Accountant. Prior to the SEC fellowship, Jeremy spent time in EY’s National Professional Practice Group and audited public and private companies in the manufacturing and retail and distribution industries.
Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University and majored in Accounting and Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Ohio, Indiana and New York, and he is a member of the AICPA.
