As EY Americas Private Equity Assurance Advisory Leader and the EY Americas Deputy Leader for Financial Accounting Advisory Services, Derek Steinhiser helps companies access the firm’s deep knowledge to address risk and complexity, while identifying opportunities to drive long-term value and advance the finance, C-suite and board agenda.

He guides companies through transformational events, with a particular focus on transactions. His know-how helps companies manage the acquisitions, divestitures, spinoffs, financial statement and SEC reporting prep, technical accounting matters, and more. Derek works across multiple industries due to the vast array of sector investments made by private equity firms.

Previously, Derek served as the East Region’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services leader, and he continues to focus on divestitures, capital market transactions, IPOs, debt offerings and more.

Derek holds a BS in Accounting from Saint Francis College, is a CPA in New York and Indiana, and a member of the AICPA and the NY State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
