What you need to know for Q3 2023 financial reporting

Jason is a Partner in EY’s National Professional Practice Group based in New York. He provides technical assistance on accounting issues, with a particular focus on ESG accounting matters, leases and various financial statement presentation topics.

Prior to this role, Jason completed a fellowship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) where he focused on issues related to revenue recognition and income taxes. At the FASB, Jason also served as the coordinator of the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF). Prior to that, Jason worked in EY’s National Professional Practice Group focusing on revenue recognition and financial instrument matters. Previously, he also worked in EY’s Assurance practice in New York, serving clients in the asset management and real estate industries.

Jason received his Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Utah. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of CPAs.

Heather is a Managing Director in EY’s SEC regulatory matters group where she focuses on a wide variety of SEC reporting matters related to registration statements, annual reports and other periodic filings. In this role, Heather also works on developing EY publications on SEC rulemaking developments.

Prior to this position, Heather worked in EY’s Assurance Quality Network, focusing on key initiatives and process improvements.  She also worked in EY’s Region Professional Practice Group where she advised clients on a wide range of topics including US GAAP accounting, SEC reporting and auditor association with public offerings.

Heather earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia. Heather is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.  She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Fungisai is a partner in the EY National Professional Practice Group based in New York. In this role, she provides technical accounting assistance to audit teams and clients, with a focus on ESG accounting matters, leasing and various financial statement presentation topics.

Previously, Fungisai completed a fellowship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) where she focused on the intersection of ESG matters with financial accounting standards, segment reporting and leasing. At the FASB, she also served as the coordinator of the Emerging Issues Task Force. Fungisai previously worked in the EY Assurance practice in Dallas, Texas, serving public multinational clients in the semiconductor and software-as-a-service industries.

Fungisai earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Jackson State University and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and New York and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
