European Tax Update Seminar

The European tax landscape has been changing rapidly and the pace of change shows no sign of slowing. European countries have taken the lead in implementing BEPS 2.0, anti-tax avoidance legislation and tax transparency rules, and Europe is also the frontrunner in ESG, where tax and incentives play important roles. These developments are creating many challenges, but also opportunities.

On Monday 18 November 2024, EY Japan will hold our 2024 European Tax Update seminar and reception. We will give an overview of European tax trends and developments in an event that will be indispensable to Japanese business groups that have or plan to make future investments in Europe. • European tax reforms - Country updates from the UK (including the next UK Budget, scheduled for 30 October 2024), Netherlands, Germany and France, plus EU developments.
• Managing pan-European tax and transparency obligations - Latest insights and practical experience of regional compliance and reporting trends such as EU public CBCR and Pillar 2 filings.
• Dealing with multi-country regulatory and trade related issues - EU/UK CBAM, Plastic Packaging Taxes and the EU Foreign Subsidy Regulation (and its interaction with tax incentives).
• Multi-territory tax controversy management and tax dispute resolution - The options available to efficiently manage multi-country tax controversy and accelerate tax dispute resolution across Europe, including more efficient MAP processes, the EU dispute resolution directive and ICAP.
