Richard Ferrari

EY Americas Financial Services Tax; Partner, Ernst & Young LLP

Partner in financial services, focused on indirect tax.

Richard is a Partner at Ernst & Young LLP’s Financial Services Office leading our New York Indirect Tax team consisting of over 100 tax professionals. Richard also supports the EY Americas Employment Tax practice consisting of over 75 professionals. He provides services relating to all indirect tax areas as well as focusing on tax technical matters pertaining to federal and state employment taxes. 

Richard has over 25 years of indirect tax experience, working closely with global corporations within the financial services sector including banking capital markets, insurance and wealth and asset management.

The International Tax Review World Tax Survey of 3,000 Corporations recognized Richard as one of the top ten U.S. East Coast Tax Advisors. Richard lectures across the country on various indirect tax developments for various tax associations, including Wall Street Tax, Tax Executives Institute and Council on State Taxes (COST).

Richard has served as a Partner with Ernst & Young LLP for 15 years. He received a BS from Fordham University and an MBA in Taxation from Pace University. Richard is a certified public accountant licensed in New York State.

How Richard is building a better working world 

Richard assists clients in achieving employment tax recoveries and benefits through the identification, design and implementation of executive-level tax planning elections. Richard also supports clients with the federal and state employment tax aspects associated with income tax withholding, executive compensation, payroll process reviews, merger integrations and corporate reorganizations.
