As the EY Americas Crypto and Digital Asset Tax Leader, Tom leads the firm’s digital asset tax initiatives. He serves as the global tax account leader for several digital asset natives, including established cryptocurrency exchanges and emerging DeFi platforms. He’s also working closely with traditional financial institutions entering the digital asset market.
Tom works with ecosystem participants on evaluating the tax implications for a variety of complex cryptocurrency-related transactions, such as liquidity pools, lending transactions, wrapped tokens, token-based compensation plans and receipt of cryptocurrency for services. He is the sponsoring principal of the EY Digital Asset Tax Suite, which features innovative solutions to help clients navigate complex income tax and broker reporting obligations.
A CPA in New York, Tom has an MS in Taxation from Northeastern University and a BS in Accounting from Rutgers University.
