Steve helps clients navigate complex federal programs and high-stakes oversight inquiries. As a former federal senior executive with nearly 20 years of oversight experience, he assists clients in building and executing programs with integrity to help maximize outcomes.
He most recently served as the Acting Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He led the agency’s execution of fraud and misconduct investigations, performance and financial audits, and program integrity reviews across HUD’s portfolio with $70b+ in annual budget and $100b+ in supplemental disaster recovery funding. He has testified before Congress on antifraud and program integrity strategies for HUD grantees and areas to strengthen grants management and improve outcomes in the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.
Steve received his JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and BS in Public Administration from James Madison University.
