Increasing regulatory complexity, rising demands from internal stakeholders, and budget constraints are creating pressure for tax leaders to do more with less. At the same time, many tax teams are stretched by time-consuming core compliance activities.
Findings from the latest EY Tax and Finance Operations Survey show that tax personnel spend nearly half of their time – 45% – on data gathering and wrangling for routine compliance activities. Meanwhile, new regulations are expanding data requirements and reducing the time available for compiling and analyzing information for reporting.
Together the global EY organization and IBM are helping businesses rethink tax compliance and reporting with an enterprise-grade generative AI (GenAI) agent focused on scaling productivity and supporting greater business value. Building on these efforts the EY–IBM Alliance team works with organizations to apply GenAI to address critical data challenges across their tax functions.
