Steven has over 20 years of experience leading Banking & Capital Markets business and technology transformation. He focusses on harnessing traditional business consulting capabilities with those of finance data and innovative finance technology along with behaviour and culture, to support clients on their transformation journey.

Currently, Steven serves as the EU Client Service Partner (CSP) for several global investment banks, whilst maintaining his role as the EY UK&I Financial Services Capital Markets Consulting Lead. This combination of roles brings him a distinctive perspective on the needs of capital markets clients.

Over time, Steven has worked across front office, risk, finance, product control and operations. He qualified as an accountant, with experience performing audits of global investment banks. Steven joined the global EY organisation from the banking industry, where he led change within finance and equity product control in the UK for a US investment bank.

How Steven is building better working world

Steven has led global projects focussed on organisational structure change, process efficiency, cost reduction, stress testing, controls improvement and location strategy.

He has extensive experience driving programmes to support global systemically important and ‘inbound’ banks headquartered in the UK, especially in their recovery and resolution programmes.

Steven understands the challenges of building a rewarding career, especially for those from working-class backgrounds, having grown up in East London and leaving school without A Levels. He is now committed to creating better opportunities for individuals from similar backgrounds.

He mentors young adults outside of work and helps ensure that his colleagues have access to professional development and a supportive environment where they feel valued as an integral part of the team. Steven also provides informal coaching and mentorship to several EY colleagues.
