Maria has over 20 years’ experience in indirect taxes, most recently as the EY Global Indirect Tax Deputy Leader. She is seasoned in indirect tax automation and supports multinationals with technology, systems and operating models design and implementations. She believes in diversity, inclusion and accessibility.
Previous to that, Maria served as the US VAT Practice Leader. Under her leadership, the practice almost doubled in size and became the #1 VAT practice in the US.
She started her EY career with the Indirect Tax practices of Ernst & Young Abogados in Madrid and Ernst & Young Belastingadviseurs LLP in Amsterdam.
Maria earned a Law degree from the University of Navarra and an LLM from Instituto de Empresa (IE).
