EY Commercial Healthcare Survey

How leaders can reinvent value-based care

Spectrum Bar

The survey findings provide healthcare executives with insights into employer priorities, investment trends and opportunities to accelerate value-based care models while addressing affordability and improving outcomes.

To better understand how employers are adapting their health benefits strategies, the EY-Parthenon team surveyed US healthcare benefits specialists and HR leaders on the design and delivery of commercial health insurance. The EY Commercial Healthcare Survey reveals a bigger market shift taking shape: one size fits nobody. Employers are increasingly moving beyond traditional approaches and adopting targeted strategies designed to improve outcomes, manage costs and deliver measurable return on investment (ROI). With employers taking a more active role, payer capabilities and provider proficiency will be vital to translating those ambitions into health plans that work better and cost less.

As employers take a more active role in shaping how value is defined, delivered and measured, healthcare leaders face a new set of strategic choices. This report explores the forces driving this shift and the actions health plans, providers and other organizations can take to stay ahead of the next evolution of value-based care.
