Joe Depa

Joe is the Global Chief Innovation Officer at the EY organization, responsible for advancing the firm's innovation strategy and integrating practical innovation into all aspects of our work. Joe’s team pioneers the adoption of technologies that deliver bottom-line value – from new products and services to better ways of working.

As the global spokesperson for innovation and technology disruption, Joe tells the story of how applied innovation (through next-generation AI, data and emerging tech) empowers our people and clients to unlock exponential value.

Joe was the inaugural Chief Data and AI Officer for an academic medical center. He was also a senior managing director and member on the global leadership team at another professional services firm leading Data & AI, overseeing board-level initiatives across industries and managing engineering and strategy teams globally.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a Master's in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Driven by his passions both professionally and personally, Joe is focused on applying innovation to create new products, services, and ways of working that help make our world a better place. In previous roles, he worked to apply large language models that integrated with health research into clinical care and has served as a board member and advocate for organizations advancing precision medicine and childhood cancer research.
