Effective 24 April 2024, all new and renewal applications for Employment Passes (EPs) that are to be processed by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) must be submitted through the centralized "Xpats Gateway" platform. Malaysian companies that are required to file EP applications with the MDEC must now do so via the Xpats Gateway platform, instead of the eXpats system (which is accessible via the MDEC website). To access Xpats Gateway, companies must be registered on the eXpats system and use the same login credentials. Applications submitted via Xpats Gateway will continue to be processed by the MDEC. Employers must continue to submit all other Pass applications via the eXpats system.
