DOS issues guidance on qualifying criteria for national interest exceptions to Presidential Proclamations suspending entry of immigrants and non-immigrants

The U.S. Department of State ("DOS") published guidance on August 12, detailing the criteria to qualify for National Interest Exceptions to the June 22 Presidential Proclamation ("Proclamation"), which suspended the entry of certain immigrant and non-immigrant visa applicants. The Proclamation extended the prior suspension of immigrant visa issuance and suspended the issuance of H-1B, H-2B, J-1, and L-1 non-immigrant visas until December 31, 2020.
