Turkey simplifies residence permit application process for certain individuals

Eligible individuals who file a Turkish residence permit application via a notary public office are no longer required to attend an appointment as part of the application process. This recent change was implemented based on a protocol signed between the Turkish Notaries Association and the Turkish Ministry of Interior. The exemption from having to attend an appointment with the Turkish immigration authorities is available only to individuals who file a residence permit application (either themselves or through an authorized lawyer holding a power of attorney) via a notary public office. These applicants are required to pay a fee for using the services of a notary public office.
